Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with your fellow team members to organise key events and flagship fundraising campaigns.
  • Create and manage engaging content for our social media platforms, using Canva to design eye catching posts and supporting materials.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with community groups, support groups and individuals to encourage ongoing support.
  • Organise and support community-led events and initiatives to raise awareness and funds.
  • Identify and capitalise on new fundraising opportunities in the region to grow our network of community-based volunteers, and to facilitate fundraising events and activities.
  • Represent the Hospice at events, cheque presentations, and networking opportunities, and give presentations to a range of audiences using a variety of media platforms.
  • Develop and implement local fundraising strategies to ensure financial income targets and KPIs are achieved.
  • Maintain accurate records of contacts, donations and event outcomes using Donorflex CRM and internal systems.
  • Ensure that all fundraising activities comply with relevant legislation and organisational policies.
  • Work with Supporter Care to cultivate and develop donor relations.
  • Be a proactive networker, keeping abreast of changes and new developments within the local fundraising environment.
  • Help to develop online and digital fundraising and other new initiatives which will support fundraising.
  • Represent Evora Hospice professionally all times.
  • Act in accordance with Hospice principles regarding relationships with supporters, many of whom may have experienced bereavement.

Due to the nature of the role, the post holder must be prepared to work evenings and weekends with time off in lieu for the extra hours worked.

Qualifications Required

  • A degree (or equivalent) plus 1 year’s relevant experience in a fundraising, marketing, event management, social media, PR or sales environment with a preference for B2B or B2C sales rather than retail.

OR

  • 2 years relevant experience in a fundraising, marketing, event management, social media PR or sales environment, with a preference for B2B or B2C sales rather than retail.

Experience and Skills

  • A degree (or equivalent) plus 1 year’s relevant experience in a fundraising, marketing, event management, social media, PR or sales environment with a preference for B2B or B2C sales rather than retail.

OR

  • 2 years relevant experience in a fundraising, marketing, event management, social media PR or sales environment, with a preference for B2B or B2C sales rather than retail.
  • Excellent communicator – confident, outgoing and skilled in all aspects of communication both written and verbal to a range of audiences of varying sizes
  • Good IT skills – particularly Microsoft Office, Photoshop and Canva
  • Strong social media experience across all platforms
  • A flare for creativity, innovation and attention to detail
  • Able to work on own initiative as well as part of a team
  • Resilient and determined to achieve
  • Able to work to deadlines and to prioritise work accordingly
  • Enthusiastic and self-motivated
  • Confident public speaker and networker
  • Full driving license with eligibility to drive in the UK and access to a car for work purposes (or able to demonstrate other means of fulfilling this aspect of the role)

Desirable Criteria

Relevant experience in one or more of the following:

  • Third sector
  • Data analytics
  • Digitalisation
  • Working with corporate organisations in support of their Corporate Social Responsibility agenda
  • Relationship development
  • Monitoring and reporting on income and expenditure
  • A successful track record in generating income
  • An understanding of relevant GDPR requirements
  • Experience of using CRM databases
