Fundraise as a School
Working together with schools, just like yours
Working together with schools like yours
This is very important to us, not only in terms of fundraising but also in educating young people about the work of the hospice, the services we have available, what we do and how we help. By getting involved in fun and meaningful fundraising activities, your school can play a key role in helping us continue our work. From sponsored walks and pyjama days the possibilities are endless – and every little bit raised makes a big impact!
We would be thrilled to work with your school, provide support and ideas, and celebrate your achievements along the way. Let’s inspire the next generation to care, give back, and help others.
World Kindness Day
This World Kindness Day, 13th November, we’re inviting your school to take part in a simple but powerful fundraising initiative in support of Hospice services. We’re encouraging schools to ask each pupil to bring in £1, with all proceeds going directly to the Hospice to support the vital care and services we provide to local families.
It’s a wonderful opportunity to promote kindness and community spirit among pupils, while making a real difference in the lives of others. We would be so grateful for your support and hope your school will join us in spreading kindness and hope this November.
Step it up
Get involved and make a difference with Step It Up! This exciting and inclusive challenge encourages students to get active by walking or running, all while raising vital funds to help us continue providing care to individuals and families in our community. It’s an excellent opportunity to promote health, wellbeing, and physical activity among students.
The Step It Up challenge is perfect for everyone – whether students are participating individually or as part of a team. Teachers can get involved too, making it an engaging way for the whole school to come together. Create friendly competition by organising challenges between classes, or even have teachers race against their students!
This challenge can take place during PE lessons, break times, or after school. Encourage students to set personal goals, track their progress, and celebrate milestones along the way. We hope you’ll join us and encourage your school to Step It Up for a worthwhile cause!
Join our Reindeer Recruits!
Join our Reindeer Run this December, bringing festive cheer to schools, we need your pupils to be our Reindeer Recruits! We would love to see as many schools as possible donning their antlers and coming together to support our community’s only Hospice.
The Reindeer Run can take place at a time and date to suit you and within your school grounds. All schools who sign up to take part will receive a pair of antlers for each of their pupils, this is provided free of charge and in return we will provide every child with a sponsor form and ask that those who are able, aim to raise as much as they can to support Hospice Services.
A big thank you to Hardy Memorial Primary School in Richill who were the first ever school to trial our new Reindeer Run programme. The school raised an amazing £11,190 for Hospice Care.
Copper Hunt
Get your school involved in the Hospice’s Copper Hunt and make a real difference in your community. This simple initiative invites pupils to take home a collection box and gather loose change throughout the academic year. Every penny adds up, and together, your school can help support vital hospice care for those who need it most. Join the Copper Hunt today and turn pocket change into lasting change!
Bereavement Support
At the Hospice we understand the profound impact that the death of a loved one can have especially on children, families, and all school employees. According to Child Bereavement UK, 1 in 29 children have experienced the death of a parent or sibling, which on average, is one child in every classroom.
We are proud to offer support to pupils, teachers, and parents who have been affected by a palliative illness such as cancer, heart failure, or motor neurone disease. This support is available to everyone in your school community, regardless of whether they have previously used our Hospice services.
If you would like more information about this support, or if you have specific questions about how we can help your school community, please do not hesitate to get in touch using the contact details provided below. We are here to listen, guide, and support whenever we are needed.
