McKvr Lurgan Park Fun Run for Evora Hospice 2027 Launched
The date for the annual McKvr Lurgan Park Fun Run for Evora Hospice (formerly Southern Area Hospice) has been announced. It will take place on Sunday 28th February 2027 at 11am. With 600 places available across 5k and 10k distances.
The hugely popular event, which was established in 2014, has now raised over £96,000. A special feature of the Fun Run is that all costs and supplies are covered by sponsors, which means 100% of runner donations goes to the hospice. Each participant will receive a T-shirt, bespoke medal, running number, refreshments and snacks on the day.
David Wilson, from the Organising Committee, commented: “We are delighted to be entering our 13th year. We work closely with the Lurgan Friends of Hospice Fundraising Group, headed up by Deirdre Breen and her team of committed volunteers. We are aiming to break the £100,000 fundraising mark in 2027 and we could only achieve that with the support of the local running community.
We are grateful that McKvr Sports are supporting us once again. They have been involved since 2014 and have shown great commitment. They are providing the T-Shirts, medals and prizes. As well as support with online registration and pack collection from their Lurgan store”.

Evora Hospice Care provides their service across the entire Southern Health Board area, including Lurgan, Newry & Mourne, Craigavon, Banbridge, Portadown, Armagh and Dungannon. With an annual fundraising target of over £4.2 million, every donation really does count.
